So the people went out and brought back branches and built themselves temporary shelters on their own roofs, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God and in the square by the Water Gate and the one by the Gate of Ephraim.

They built them in the open area in front of the Water Gate. And they built them in the open area in front of the Gate of Ephraim.

So the people went out and brought these things back and constructed temporary shelters for themselves, each on his roof and in his courtyard and in the courtyards of the temple of God and in the plaza of the Water Gate and the plaza of the Ephraim Gate.

So the people went out, and brought them, and made themselves temporary shelters, everyone on the roof of his house, in their courts, in the courts of God’s house, in the wide place of the water gate, and in the wide place of Ephraim’s gate.

又過了以法蓮門、古門、魚門、哈楠業樓、哈米亞樓，直到羊門，就在護衛門站住。

以色列王約阿施在伯‧示麥擒住亞哈謝的孫子，約阿施的兒子猶大王亞瑪謝，就來到耶路撒冷，拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆，從以法蓮門直到角門共四百肘。

他們經過泉門往前，登大衛城的臺階，上城牆的斜坡，從大衛宮殿之上，直到朝東的水門。

耶路撒冷的房屋和猶大君王的宮殿，就是他們在其上向天上的萬象燒香、向別神獻澆酒祭的宮殿房屋，都必被玷污，和陀斐特一樣。』」

「你若建造新房屋，要在屋頂安欄杆，免得有人從屋頂掉下來，血就歸於你家。

黃昏的時候，大衛從床上起來，在王宮的平頂上散步。他從平頂上看見一個婦人沐浴，這婦人容貌非常美麗。

那時，眾百姓如同一人聚集在水門前的廣場，請以斯拉文士將耶和華吩咐以色列的摩西的律法書帶來。
