The whole company that had returned from exile built temporary shelters and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated it like this. And their joy was very great.

All the people who had returned from the land of Babylon made booths. They lived in them during the Feast of Booths. They hadn’t celebrated the feast with so much joy for a long time. In fact, they had never celebrated it like that from the days of Joshua, the son of Nun, until that day. So their joy was very great.

And all the assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in the booths, for from the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day the people of Israel had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing.

So everyone who had returned from captivity lived in these shelters during the festival, and they were all filled with great joy! The Israelites had not celebrated like this since the days of Joshua son of Nun.

他又照摩西所吩咐的在安息日、初一日、和制定節期上、一年三次、即除酵節、七七節、住棚節、按日日所該獻上的來獻。

他們又照所記載的守住棚之節；按數照例獻上日日該獻的燔祭，按日日的本分獻；

那時所羅門和以色列眾人同在一起，從哈馬口到埃及谿谷、一羣極大的大眾、一同過了節七天。第八天他們舉行了聖節會；行獻壇禮七天，過了節七天。七月二十三日，王遣散了眾民回家；眾民因見了永恆主向大衛所羅門和他人民以色列所施的恩惠，他們心裏都很歡喜快樂。

道成了肉身，住在我們中間（我們見過他的榮光，正是個獨生者由父而來的榮光），豐豐滿滿地有恩典有「真實」。（

那一天他們在永恆主面前喫喝，大大歡樂。他們第二次立了大衛的兒子所羅門為王，用油膏他歸永恆主為人君，也膏撒督歸永恆主為祭司。

自從神言人撒母耳的日子以來、在以色列中都沒有守過這樣的逾越節；以色列諸王也沒有守過像約西亞、祭司和利未人、猶大和以色列所有在場的眾人、跟耶路撒冷的居民、所守的這逾越節。

所有在耶路撒冷的以色列人都大大歡喜守除酵之節七天；利未人們和祭司們天天讚美永恆主，極力頌讚永恆主。希西家說好話向一切精練於事奉永恆主的利未人表示關心；於是眾人喫了這制定節期的筵席七天，宰獻着平安祭，稱謝永恆主他們列祖的上帝。全體大眾商議好了、再過節七天；於是大家歡歡喜喜又守了七天。

因着信、他僑居在應許之地做外人，在帳棚裏居住；跟同做後嗣而承受這同一應許的以撒雅各在一起；

倘若約書亞已經使眾民享了安息，上帝後來就不再直講到別的日子了。

這樣、在耶路撒冷就大有喜樂；自從以色列王大衛兒子所羅門的日子以來，在耶路撒冷都沒有過這樣的。

這些人都是存着信心而死，沒有領受所應許的，乃是遠遠望見而致敬，承認自己在地上是旅客是寄居的。

永恆主的僕人摩西死了以後，永恆主告訴摩西的助手嫩的兒子約書亞說：
