On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and the Levites, gathered around Ezra the teacher to give attention to the words of the Law.

All the family leaders gathered around Ezra, the teacher. So did the priests and Levites. All of them paid attention to the words of the Law. It was the second day of the month.

On the second day the heads of fathers’ houses of all the people, with the priests and the Levites, came together to Ezra the scribe in order to study the words of the Law.

On October 9 the family leaders of all the people, together with the priests and Levites, met with Ezra the scribe to go over the Law in greater detail.

弟子啊，你若接受我的訓言，將我的誡命珍藏於心中，留心側耳聽智慧，傾心求明哲；你若呼求聰明，揚聲求明哲，尋求它如尋求銀礦，搜尋它如搜尋寶藏，那麼你就明白敬畏永恆主的道理，找到認識上帝的門路。因為永恆主賜予智慧；知識和明達都由他口中而出；

使徒出來的時候、眾人央求他們在第二安息日將這些事再對他們講。

使徒正對人民講話的時候、祭司長們和守殿官跟撒都該人忽然來了，

耶書亞、巴尼、示利比、雅憫、亞谷、沙比太、荷第雅、瑪西雅、基利他、亞撒利雅、約撒拔、哈難、毘萊雅，這些利未人幫助人民明白律法；人民始終站着。以斯拉清清楚楚地唸那書卷，誦讀上帝的律法，講明意義，使人民明白所誦讀的。

全體大眾商議好了、再過節七天；於是大家歡歡喜喜又守了七天。

眾人看見他們走了，有許多人認得他們，便從各城步行，一齊向那裏跑，比他們先到。耶穌出了船，看見一大羣人，就憐憫他們，因為他們像羊沒有牧人一般；就教訓他們許多事。

但主的僕人卻不應該好爭吵，應該溫和柔順以待眾人，善於教導，能忍受苦害，能用柔和矯正對抗的人。或者上帝給他們悔改的心，得以認識真理；

喜愛知識的愛受管教；恨惡勸責的是畜類無知。

耶穌天天在殿院裏教訓人。祭司長經學士和民間的首領、想法子要殺滅他，卻尋不出所可行的；因為眾民都緊纏着耶穌來聽他。
