When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.

All our enemies heard about it. All the nations around us became afraid. They weren’t sure of themselves anymore. They realized that our God had helped us finish the work.

And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.

When our enemies and the surrounding nations heard about it, they were frightened and humiliated. They realized this work had been done with the help of our God.

約旦河西亞摩利人的眾王和靠海迦南人的眾王，聽見耶和華在以色列人前面使約旦河的水乾了，直到他們過了河，眾王因以色列人的緣故都膽戰心驚，勇氣全失。

參巴拉、多比雅、阿拉伯人、亞捫人和亞實突人聽見耶路撒冷城牆正在修造，破裂的地方開始進行修補，就非常憤怒。

參巴拉聽見我們建造城牆就發怒，非常惱恨，並嗤笑猶太人。

絕沒有法術可以傷雅各，沒有占卜可以害以色列。現在，人論及雅各，論及以色列必說：『神成就了何等的事啊！』

現在，我勸你們不要管這些人，任憑他們吧！他們所謀所為若是出於人，必要敗壞；

他使他們的車輪脫落，難以前行，埃及人說：「我們從以色列人面前逃跑吧！因耶和華為他們作戰，攻擊埃及了。」

參巴拉、多比雅、阿拉伯人基善和我們其餘的仇敵聽見我已經建造了城牆，沒有破裂之處在其中，那時我還沒有在城門安門扇；參巴拉和基善就派人來見我，說：「請你來，我們在阿挪平原的村莊見面。」其實，他們想要害我。
