Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.

你們要配上神的全副武裝，使你們得以站立，對付魔鬼的騙局，因為我們不是與血肉之體搏鬥，而是與那些統治的、掌權的、管轄這黑暗世界的，以及天上邪惡的屬靈勢力搏鬥。為此，要拿起神的全副武裝，好使你們在邪惡的日子能夠抵擋，並且在完成一切以後，還站立得住。所以，你們要站立得住：用真理束上腰，穿上公義的護胸甲；把所預備好的和平福音，穿在腳上；在任何情況下，要拿起信仰的盾牌；你們藉著它就能消滅那惡者一切燃燒的飛箭；並且要接受救恩的頭盔和聖靈的寶劍——就是神的話語。你們要以各樣的禱告和祈求，藉著聖靈時刻祈禱；而且為此警醒，以極大的忍耐，為所有聖徒祈求，也為我祈求，好使我在開口的時候被賜予話語，能坦然無懼地讓人明白福音的奧祕——為此，我成了帶鎖鏈的特使。請為我祈求，使我能照著應該說的，放膽傳道。

恩待人、借予人的，是有福之人，他秉公辦事；

「看哪，我差派你們出去，就像把羊送進狼群中，所以你們要像蛇那樣聰明，像鴿子那樣純潔。

弟兄們，你們在思想上不要做小孩子，但是在惡事上要做嬰孩，在思想上要做成熟的人。

那天晚上，雅各就在那裡過夜。他從自己所擁有的東西中，選出給哥哥以掃的禮物：母山羊兩百隻，公山羊二十隻，母綿羊兩百隻，公綿羊二十隻，哺乳的駱駝三十頭和牠們的幼崽，母牛四十頭，公牛十頭，母驢二十頭，公驢十頭；分成一群一群的，交在僕人們手中，對他們說：「你們要在我前面先過去，使群和群之間保持一段距離。」他吩咐領頭的僕人說：「我哥哥以掃遇見你的時候，如果問你：『你的主人是誰？你要到哪裡去？在你前面的這些牲畜是誰的？』你就回答：『是你僕人雅各的，是送給我主以掃的禮物。看哪，他自己也在我們後面。』」他又吩咐第二個、第三個和所有跟在各群後面的僕人說：「你們遇見以掃的時候，也要這樣對他說，並強調說：『看哪，你的僕人雅各在我們後面。』」因為雅各想：「我先藉著在我前面先送去的禮物與他和解，然後再與他見面，或許他會接納我。」
