Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.

那些建造城墙，搬运重物的，都是一只手作工，一只手紧握兵器。建造的人，都腰间佩着刀来建造；吹号角的人在我旁边。

要穿戴神所赐的全副军装，使你们能抵挡魔鬼的诡计。因为我们的争战，对抗的不是有血有肉的人，而是执政的、掌权的、管辖这黑暗世界的和天上的邪灵。所以要穿起神所赐的全副军装，使你们在这邪恶的时代里可以抵挡得住，并且在作完了一切之后，还能站立得稳。因此，你们要站稳，用真理当带子束腰，披上公义的胸甲，把和平的福音预备好了，当作鞋子，穿在脚上，拿起信心的盾牌，用来扑灭那恶者所有的火箭；并且要戴上救恩的头盔，拿起圣灵的宝剑，就是神的道，藉着各样的祷告和祈求，随时在圣灵里祈祷，并且要在这事上恒久警醒，为众圣徒祈求。也要为我祈求，使我传讲的时候，得着当说的话，可以坦然无惧地讲明福音的奥秘，（我为这奥秘作了被捆锁的使者），也使我按着应当说的，放胆宣讲这福音的奥秘。

恩待人，借贷给别人，按公正处理自己事务的，这人必享福乐。

“现在，我差派你们出去，好像羊进到狼群中间；所以你们要像蛇一样机警，像鸽子一样纯洁。

弟兄们，你们在思想上不要作小孩子，却要在恶事上作婴孩，在思想上作成年人。

希西家见西拿基立有意攻打耶路撒冷，就与众领袖和众勇士商议，要把城外各道水泉堵塞，他们都赞同。于是有一大班人集合起来，堵塞了一切泉源和流通那地的溪流，他们说：“为什么要让亚述王得着充沛的水源呢？”希西家发愤图强，重建所有拆毁了的城墙，墙上筑起瞭望楼，又建造一道外墙，并且巩固大卫城内的米罗，又制造了很多兵器和盾牌。他又委派军长统管众民，集合他们到城门的广场那里去见他；他鼓励他们说：“你们要坚强勇敢，不要因亚述王和他统领的大军惧怕惊慌；因为和我们同在的，比和他们同在的更多。和他们同在的，不过是人血肉的手臂；和我们同在的，却是耶和华我们的神，他必帮助我们，为我们作战。”众民因犹大王希西家的话都得着鼓励了。

那天晚上，雅各在那里过夜。然后从他所拥有的牲畜中，取出一部分，作为给他哥哥以扫的礼物，就是母山羊二百只、公山羊二十只、母绵羊二百只、公绵羊二十只、哺乳的母骆驼三十匹，各带着驹子，母牛四十头、公牛十头、母驴二十头、公驴十头。雅各把这些分成一队一队，交在仆人的手里，又对仆人说：“你们先过去，每队之间要留一段距离。”他又吩咐走在最前的仆人说：“我哥哥以扫遇见你的时候，如果问你：‘你的主人是谁？你要到哪里去？在你前面的这些牲畜是谁的？’你就要回答：‘是你仆人雅各的，是送给我主以扫的礼物，他自己也在我们后面。’”他又吩咐第二个、第三个和所有跟在队伍后面的人说：“你们遇见以扫的时候，都要这样对他说。你们还要说：‘你的仆人雅各在我们后面。’”因为他心里想：“我先送礼物去，藉此与他和解，然后再与他见面，或者他会原谅我﹙“他会原谅我”或译：“他会接纳我”﹚。”

看哪！是所罗门的御轿，四周有六十个勇士，都是以色列中的勇士。个个手拿武器，能征惯战；各人腿上配有利剑，以防夜间的袭击。
