『在收割你們的地的莊稼時，你收割不可把田邊都割盡了，也不可撿你收割時所遺落的；要留給貧困的和寄居的：我永恆主是你們的上帝。』

你們要守安息日，因為這是給予你們的聖日；凡瀆犯這日的、必須被處死；凡在這日作工的、那人必須從他的族人中被剪除。六日要作工，但第七日卻是完全歇工的安息日，歸永恆主為聖的；凡在安息之日作工的、必須被處死。故此以色列人要守安息日，代代遵行安息日的制度、作為永遠的約。這是我和以色列人之間永遠的憑證，因為六日之內永恆主造了天地，第七日便休息而舒暢舒暢。」』

我吩咐他們說：『非等到日光暖和了、耶路撒冷的城門總不可以開；日頭還站着未落時，就要關門，要上閂。要派耶路撒冷的居民做看守人，各按自己的班次、各在自己房屋的對面去看守。
