At the same time, other people from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin lived in Jerusalem. Here are the leaders from the family line of Judah. There was Athaiah. He was the son of Uzziah. Uzziah was the son of Zechariah. Zechariah was the son of Amariah. Amariah was the son of Shephatiah. Shephatiah was the son of Mahalalel. Mahalalel belonged to the family line of Perez.

And in Jerusalem lived certain of the sons of Judah and of the sons of Benjamin. Of the sons of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mahalalel, of the sons of Perez;

Judah fathered Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez fathered Hezron, Hezron fathered Aram,

son of Amminadab, son of Ram, son of Hezron, son of Perez, son of Judah,

These people from the descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh settled in Jerusalem:Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, a descendant of Perez son of Judah;from the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons;and from the descendants of Zerah: Jeuel and their relatives— 690 in all.The Benjaminites: Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, son of Michri; Meshullam son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah;and their relatives according to their family records— 956 in all. All these men were heads of their ancestral families.
