Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.

At that time Hanani came from Judah with some other men. He was one of my brothers. I asked him and the other men about the Jews who were left alive in Judah. They had returned from Babylon. I also asked him about Jerusalem.

我委任我的兄弟哈拿尼和營樓長哈拿尼雅，管理耶路撒冷，因為哈拿尼雅是個可信靠的人，敬畏神勝過許多人。

耶路撒冷啊！如果我忘記你，情願我的右手忘記技巧（“忘記技巧”或譯：“枯乾”）。如果我不記念你，如果我不高舉耶路撒冷超過我最大的喜樂，情願我的舌頭緊貼上膛。

那些去埃及地，在那裡寄居的猶大餘剩的人，必不能逃脫，不能倖存，不能返回他們心裡渴望回去居住的猶大地；除了一些逃脫了的人以外，一個都不能返回。’”

現在，耶和華我們的神恩待我們片時，給我們存留一些逃脫的人，使我們像釘子釘在他的聖所那樣的安穩，讓我們的神光照我們的眼睛，使我們在所受的奴役中稍得復興。雖然我們是奴隸，但在奴役中，我們的神仍然沒有撇棄我們，反而使我們在波斯列王面前得蒙恩惠，使我們復興，建立我們神的殿，重修毀壞的地方，使我們在猶大和耶路撒冷有牆垣。

豈沒有逃脫的人來到你那裡，使你聽見這事嗎？那時，你要向逃脫的人開口說話，不再作啞巴。你必成為他們的一個兆頭。他們就知道我是耶和華。”

你們要為耶路撒冷求平安，說：“耶路撒冷啊！願愛你的人都亨通。願你的城牆內有平安，願你的宮殿中有安穩。”為了我的兄弟和朋友的緣故，我要說：“願你中間有平安。”為了耶和華我們神的殿的緣故，我要為你求福樂。

那時，逃脫的人必在被擄去的列國中想起我怎樣為了他們而傷痛，因為他們動了淫亂的心離棄我，他們邪淫的眼戀慕偶像；那時他們必為了自己所行的惡事和他們一切可憎的事厭惡自己。

他們中間逃脫的，必因自己的罪孽在山上發出哀聲，像谷中的鴿子哀鳴一樣。

我們怎可以再違背你的誡命，與這些行可憎事的民族通婚呢？如果我們這樣行，你豈不向我們發怒，消滅我們，以致沒有一個剩餘，或是逃脫的人嗎？
