Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.

At that time Hanani came from Judah with some other men. He was one of my brothers. I asked him and the other men about the Jews who were left alive in Judah. They had returned from Babylon. I also asked him about Jerusalem.

我委任我的兄弟哈拿尼和城堡官员哈拿尼雅治理耶路撒冷，因为哈拿尼雅比众人更忠心、敬畏上帝。

耶路撒冷啊，倘若我忘了你，情愿我的右手无法再拨弄琴弦；倘若我忘了你，不以你为我的至爱，情愿我的舌头不能再歌唱。

那些去埃及住的犹大余民没有几个能活着从埃及返回他们渴望的故乡。’”

但如今我们的上帝耶和华暂且施恩于我们，为我们存留一些余民，使我们安然住在这圣洁之地。你使我们眼睛明亮，在我们受奴役时赐给我们一点生机。虽然我们是奴隶，我们的上帝却没有离弃受奴役的我们，祂在波斯众王面前施恩于我们，使我们复兴、得以重建毁坏的上帝的殿，让我们在犹大和耶路撒冷有护墙。

那日，幸存的人必来告诉你这个消息。那时，你必开口向那人说话，不再沉默。你必成为他们的预兆，他们就知道我是耶和华。”

要为耶路撒冷的和平祷告，愿爱这城的人亨通。耶路撒冷啊！愿你城内有平安，你的宫里有安宁，为了我的亲人和朋友，我要祈求平安临到你。为了我们的上帝耶和华的殿，我要为你求福祉。

他们必在被掳的异地想起我怎样为他们忧伤，因为他们背叛我，心中淫乱，眼中恋慕与偶像苟合。他们必因自己的一切邪恶行为而厌恶自己。

侥幸逃到山上的，都必像谷中哀鸣的鸽子，为自己的罪恶哭泣。

我们岂能再违背你的诫命，与这些行为可憎的人通婚？若我们这样行，你岂不发怒毁灭我们，使我们无一幸免吗？
