He controls the seas. He dries them up. He makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Mount Carmel dry up. The flowers in Lebanon fade.

大海看見就奔逃，約旦河也倒流。

使海，就是大淵的水乾涸，使海的深處變為蒙救贖的人經過之路的，不是你嗎？

我對深淵說：‘你乾了吧，我必使你的江河乾涸！’

為甚麼我來的時候，沒有人在呢？為甚麼我呼喚的時候，沒有人答應呢？難道我的手太軟弱不能救贖嗎？或是我沒有能力拯救嗎？看哪！我以斥責使海乾涸，我使江河變成曠野，江河的魚因無水發臭，因乾渴而死。我使諸天以黑暗為衣服，以麻布作它們的遮蓋。”

耶穌卻對他們說：“小信的人哪！為甚麼害怕呢？”他就起來斥責風和海，風浪就完全平靜了。

大海啊！你為甚麼奔逃？約旦河啊！你為甚麼倒流？

他說：“耶和華從錫安吼叫，從耶路撒冷發聲；牧人的草場因此悲哀，迦密的山頂枯乾。

你曾開闢泉源和溪流，又使長流不息的江河乾涸。

抬全地之主耶和華約櫃的祭司的腳掌一踏進約旦河水裡，約旦河的水必被截斷，那從上游流下來的水必立起成壘。”人民離開帳棚出發，要過約旦河的時候，抬約櫃的祭司在人民的前面。抬約櫃的祭司來到約旦河，他們的腳碰到水邊的時候（原來約旦河水在收割的日子，常是漲過兩岸的），

海中的眾水必乾透，河床必枯竭乾涸。河道必發臭，埃及眾河流的水必消退乾涸；葦子和蘆荻都必枯萎。尼羅河旁、尼羅河口的草田，以及沿著尼羅河所種的田都必枯乾，被吹散，不再存在。打魚的人必哀號；所有在尼羅河上垂釣的必悲傷；那些在水面上撒網的，必灰心難過。那些用梳好的麻來紡紗的，和那些織白布的，都必羞愧。埃及的柱石必被打碎，所有受雇的工人也必心裡憂愁。

那創造昴星和參星，把幽暗變為黎明，把白日轉為黑夜；又吩咐海水，把海水倒在地上的；耶和華就是他的名。

說：‘你只可到這裡，不可越過，你狂傲的波浪要在這裡止住。’

我必使江河乾涸，把這地賣給惡人；我必藉著外族人的手，使這地和其中所充滿的，都變成荒涼。我耶和華已經說了。
