So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

and refused to obey. They weren’t mindful of your wonders that you did among them, but hardened their neck, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and didn’t forsake them.

Clouds and darkness are around him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.A fire goes before him, and burns up his adversaries on every side.His lightning lights up the world. The earth sees, and trembles.The mountains melt like wax at the presence of Yahweh, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

For, behold, Yahweh will come with fire, and his chariots will be like the whirlwind; to render his anger with fierceness, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

The burden of Egypt.“ Behold, Yahweh rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt within it.

He said,“ Go out, and stand on the mountain before Yahweh.” Behold, Yahweh passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before Yahweh; but Yahweh was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake; but Yahweh was not in the earthquake.After the earthquake a fire passed; but Yahweh was not in the fire. After the fire, there was a still small voice.When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. Behold, a voice came to him, and said,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Jesus said to him,“ You have said it. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”

On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.All of Mount Sinai smoked, because Yahweh descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.

God has spoken once; twice I have heard this, that power belongs to God.

Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations also of the mountains quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.Smoke went out of his nostrils. Consuming fire came out of his mouth. Coals were kindled by it.He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet.He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he soared on the wings of the wind.He made darkness his hiding place, his pavilion around him, darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed, hailstones and coals of fire.Yahweh also thundered in the sky. The Most High uttered his voice: hailstones and coals of fire.He sent out his arrows, and scattered them; Yes, great lightning bolts, and routed them.Then the channels of waters appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare at your rebuke, Yahweh, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.

Tell God,“ How awesome are your deeds! Through the greatness of your power, your enemies submit themselves to you.

Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.

and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his mightwhich he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

Yahweh spoke these words to all your assembly on the mountain out of the middle of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice. He added no more. He wrote them on two stone tablets, and gave them to me.When you heard the voice out of the middle of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;and you said,“ Behold, Yahweh our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the middle of the fire. We have seen today that God does speak with man, and he lives.

He prayed to Yahweh, and said,“ Please, Yahweh, wasn’t this what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore I hurried to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that you are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and you relent of doing harm.

“ I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man, and he came even to the ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,

if I sin, then you mark me. You will not acquit me from my iniquity.

Plague went before him, and pestilence followed his feet.He stood, and shook the earth. He looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains were crumbled. The age- old hills collapsed. His ways are eternal.I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction. The dwellings of the land of Midian trembled.Was Yahweh displeased with the rivers? Was your anger against the rivers, or your wrath against the sea, that you rode on your horses, on your chariots of salvation?You uncovered your bow. You called for your sworn arrows. Selah. You split the earth with rivers.The mountains saw you, and were afraid. The storm of waters passed by. The deep roared and lifted up its hands on high.The sun and moon stood still in the sky, at the light of your arrows as they went, at the shining of your glittering spear.You marched through the land in wrath. You threshed the nations in anger.You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the land of wickedness. You stripped them head to foot. Selah.You pierced the heads of his warriors with their own spears. They came as a whirlwind to scatter me, gloating as if to devour the wretched in secret.You trampled the sea with your horses, churning mighty waters.

Tear your heart, and not your garments, and turn to Yahweh, your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relents from sending calamity.
