從那時耶穌便開始指示門徒：他必須往耶路撒冷去，從長老祭司長和經學士手下受許多苦，並且被殺，第三天就得甦活起來。

他們離開那裏，經過了加利利；耶穌不願意人知道；就教訓門徒，對他們說：『人子必被送交在人手裏；他們必殺害他；被殺以後三天，他就要復起。』

說：『大人，我們記得那迷惑人者還活着的時候曾經說過：「三天以後我要活起來」。

他必不爭競，不喧嚷；也沒有人能聽見他的聲音在大街上。

耶穌對他說：『你要小心，不可告訴人，只要去，把你本身指給祭司看，又供獻摩西所規定的禮物，對眾人做證據。』
