When Herod heard about Jesus, he said,“ John, the man I beheaded, has come back from the dead.”

But Herod, when he heard this, said,“ This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”

All the people who belong to this world will gloat over them and give presents to each other to celebrate the death of the two prophets who had tormented them.But after three and a half days, God breathed life into them, and they stood up! Terror struck all who were staring at them.Then a loud voice from heaven called to the two prophets,“ Come up here!” And they rose to heaven in a cloud as their enemies watched.At the same time there was a terrible earthquake that destroyed a tenth of the city. Seven thousand people died in that earthquake, and everyone else was terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

“ I beheaded John,” Herod said,“ so who is this man about whom I hear such stories?” And he kept trying to see him.

“ I have sinned,” he declared,“ for I have betrayed an innocent man.”“ What do we care?” they retorted.“ That’s your problem.”

The vine had three branches that began to bud and blossom, and soon it produced clusters of ripe grapes.I was holding Pharaoh’s wine cup in my hand, so I took a cluster of grapes and squeezed the juice into the cup. Then I placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand.”

he said to his advisers,“ This must be John the Baptist raised from the dead! That is why he can do such miracles.”

Terror will grip them, terror like they have never known before. God will scatter the bones of your enemies. You will put them to shame, for God has rejected them.
