其人出、多宣之播揚其事、致耶穌不得顯然入城、乃外居於野處、人自四方來就之、

天主之道、由爾傳聞、不第在瑪其頓、亞該亞、爾信天主隨在播揚、故不須我儕復有所言、

提比留該撒在位十五年、本丟彼拉多為猶太方伯、希律為迦利利分封之王、其弟腓立為以土利亞及特拉可尼地分封之王、呂撒聶為亞比利尼分封之王、

既知其屬希律所治、則遣詣希律所、時、希律在耶路撒冷、見耶穌甚喜、因久欲見之、蓋屢聞其事、且冀見其行異跡、故以多端問之、耶穌一言不答、祭司諸長及經士、立而訟之甚切、希律及其兵卒、侮慢耶穌、戲玩之、衣以華服、復遣詣彼拉多所、彼拉多與希律素相仇、當日遂相友矣、

對曰、有言施洗約翰、有言以利亞、有言先知之一、

在耶路撒冷使巧匠作機械、置於城樓與角樓、以射矢發巨石、其名播於遠方、蓋蒙佑異常、日以強盛、

當日法利賽數人就之曰、爾出而離此、因希律欲殺爾、

亞捫人納貢於烏西雅、烏西雅之聲名、播揚至於伊及、蓋極其強也、

其聲名遂遍揚迦利利四方、○
