耶穌曰、新娶者偕在、賀婚者能禁食乎、新娶者尚在、不能禁食也、

耶穌曰、新娶者在、賀娶者安用禁食乎、蓋新娶者尚在、無庸禁食矣、

耶穌曰、新娶者尚在、賀娶之客豈可禁食、蓋新娶者尚在、彼不能禁食、

耶穌對曰：『新壻在、賀婚之友能守齋乎？蓋新壻一日與之偕、若輩即一日不宜守齋。

Jesus answered,“ How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them.

Jesus replied,“ Do wedding guests fast while celebrating with the groom? Of course not. They can’t fast while the groom is with them.

And Jesus said to them,“ While the groom is with them, the attendants of the groom cannot fast, can they? As long as they have the groom with them, they cannot fast.

And Jesus said to them,“ Can the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.

And Jesus said unto them, Can the sons of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

Come out to meet him.’“ Then all the virgins got up and trimmed their lamps.The foolish ones said to the wise ones,‘ Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’“ The wise ones answered,‘ No, there won’t be enough for us and for you. Go instead to those who sell oil, and buy some for yourselves.’“ When they had gone to buy some, the groom arrived, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet, and the door was shut.

So Laban invited all the men of the place and sponsored a feast.
