On hearing this, Jesus said to them,“ It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Jesus heard that. So he said to them,“ Those who are healthy don’t need a doctor. Sick people do. I have not come to get those who think they are right with God to follow me. I have come to get sinners to follow me.”

And when Jesus heard it, he said to them,“ Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

耶穌聽見，就說：「健康的人用不着醫生；有病的人才用得着。經上說：『我喜愛憐憫，不喜愛祭祀。』這句話的意思，你們去揣摩。我不是來召義人，而是召罪人。」

耶穌回答他們：「健康的人用不着醫生；有病的人才用得着。我不是來召義人悔改，而是召罪人悔改。」

我告訴你們，一個罪人悔改，在天上也要這樣為他歡喜，比為九十九個不用悔改的義人歡喜還大呢！」

人子來是要尋找和拯救失喪的人。」

這話可信，值得完全接受：「基督耶穌到世上來是要拯救罪人」，而在罪人中我是個罪魁。然而，我蒙了憐憫，好讓基督耶穌在我這罪魁身上顯明他完全的忍耐，給後來信他得永生的人做榜樣。

我們從前也是無知、悖逆、受迷惑，作各樣私慾和宴樂的奴隸，在惡毒、嫉妒中度日，是可恨的，而且彼此相恨。但到了我們救主上帝的恩慈和慈愛顯明的時候，他救了我們，並不是因我們自己所行的義，而是照他的憐憫，藉着重生的洗和聖靈的更新。聖靈就是上帝藉着我們的救主耶穌基督厚厚地澆灌在我們身上的，好讓我們因他的恩得稱為義，可以憑着永生的盼望成為後嗣。

惡人當離棄自己的道路，不義的人應除掉自己的意念。歸向耶和華，耶和華就必憐憫他；當歸向我們的上帝，因為他必廣行赦免。

同他在那裏的法利賽人聽見這些話，就對他說：「難道我們也失明了嗎？」

而且加添了律法，使得過犯增加，只是罪在哪裏增加，恩典就在哪裏越發豐盛了。所以，正如罪藉着死掌權；照樣，恩典也藉着義掌權，使人因我們的主耶穌基督得永生。

你們豈不知不義的人不能承受上帝的國嗎？不要自欺！無論是淫亂的、拜偶像的、姦淫的、作娼妓的，親男色的、偷竊的、貪婪的、醉酒的、辱罵的、勒索的，都不能承受上帝的國。從前你們中間也有人是這樣；但現在你們奉主耶穌基督的名，並藉着我們上帝的靈，已經洗淨，已經成聖，已經稱義了。

他對父親說：『你看，我服侍你這麼多年，從來沒有違背過你的命令，而你從來沒有給我一隻小山羊，叫我和朋友們一同快樂。

我們還軟弱的時候，基督就在特定的時刻為不敬虔之人死。為義人死，是少有的；為仁人死，或者有敢做的。惟有基督在我們還作罪人的時候為我們死，上帝的愛就在此向我們顯明了。

耶和華說：「來吧，我們彼此辯論。你們的罪雖像硃紅，必變成雪白；雖紅如丹顏，必白如羊毛。

「你們要小心，不可輕看這些小子中的一個；我告訴你們，他們的天使在天上，常見我天父的面。

我告訴你們，一個罪人悔改，上帝的使者也是這樣為他歡喜。」

耶穌對他們說：「你們是在人面前自稱為義的，你們的心，上帝卻知道；因為人以為尊貴的，是上帝看為可憎惡的。

他們回答他說：「你完全是生在罪中的，還要來教訓我們嗎？」於是他們把他趕出去了。

我先在大馬士革，後在耶路撒冷和猶太全地，以及外邦，勸勉他們應當悔改歸向上帝，行事與悔改的心相稱。

不論猶太人和希臘人，我都已證明他們當在上帝面前悔改，信靠我們的主耶穌。

他為我們的緣故捨己，為了要贖我們脫離一切罪惡，又潔淨我們作他自己的子民，熱心為善。
