But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places. People came to him from everywhere.

As Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him,“ Follow me.” He got up and followed him.

Again he began to teach by the seaside. A great multitude was gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat in the sea, and sat down. All the multitude were on the land by the sea.

On that day Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the seaside.

They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.

Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples, and a great multitude followed him from Galilee, from Judea,from Jerusalem, from Idumaea, beyond the Jordan, and those from around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him.

Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them.

The multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.When his friends heard it, they went out to seize him; for they said,“ He is insane.”

Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:“ How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

All the people came early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him.
