Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them.

Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.

Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge.

That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake.

Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.

Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.When they heard about all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon.

They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.

Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said,“ He is out of his mind.”

Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square;on top of the wall she cries out, at the city gate she makes her speech:“ How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

and all the people came early in the morning to hear him at the temple.
