耶稣对她们说：“不要害怕。去告诉我的弟兄，叫他们到加利利去，他们将在那里见到我。”

十一个门徒赶到加利利，到了耶稣和他们约定的山上，看到耶稣就敬拜祂，但有些人仍然心存疑惑。

后来，耶稣在提比哩亚海边又向门徒显现。当时的情形是这样：

那时，门徒都撇下耶稣，各自逃命去了。

你们现在要饶恕他、安慰他，免得他忧伤过度而一蹶不振。

之后有许多天，那些从加利利跟随祂上耶路撒冷的人都看见过祂，他们如今在百姓中都是祂的见证人。

并曾向彼得显现，又向十二使徒显现；

那时，彼得仍在院子里，大祭司的一个婢女走过来，见彼得在烤火，打量了他一番，说：“你也是那个拿撒勒人耶稣的同伙。”“我不知道也不明白你在说什么！”彼得一边否认，一边躲到外院去。那时，鸡叫了。一会儿，那婢女又看见彼得，就对旁边的人说：“他是跟他们一伙的！”彼得又加以否认。再过了一会儿，旁观的人也指着彼得说：“你一定是跟他们一伙的，因为你也是加利利人！”彼得又赌咒又发誓，说：“我根本不认识你们说的这个人。”就在这时候，鸡又叫了。彼得突然想起耶稣曾对他说：“在鸡叫两次以前，你会三次不认我”，忍不住痛哭起来。
