Look at my feet. You can see that it’s really me. Touch me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies, as you see that I do.”As he spoke, he showed them his hands and his feet.Still they stood there in disbelief, filled with joy and wonder. Then he asked them,“ Do you have anything here to eat?”They gave him a piece of broiled fish,and he ate it as they watched.

Remember what it says:“ Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.”And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt?And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness?And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.

I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

That is why the Holy Spirit says,“ Today when you hear his voice,don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness.

Then Jesus began to denounce the towns where he had done so many of his miracles, because they hadn’t repented of their sins and turned to God.

But when she told them that Jesus was alive and she had seen him, they didn’t believe her.Afterward he appeared in a different form to two of his followers who were walking from Jerusalem into the country.They rushed back to tell the others, but no one believed them.

The Lord says,“ Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah, as they did at Massah in the wilderness.For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw everything I did.For forty years I was angry with them, and I said,‘ They are a people whose hearts turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’So in my anger I took an oath:‘ They will never enter my place of rest.’”

“ Don’t you understand either?” he asked.“ Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you?

Jesus knew what they were saying, so he said,“ You have so little faith! Why are you arguing with each other about having no bread?Don’t you understand even yet? Don’t you remember the 5,000 I fed with five loaves, and the baskets of leftovers you picked up?Or the 4,000 I fed with seven loaves, and the large baskets of leftovers you picked up?Why can’t you understand that I’m not talking about bread? So again I say,‘ Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.’”

“ You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them.“ I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

Then Jesus said to them,“ You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures.

Jesus knew what they were saying, so he said,“ Why are you arguing about having no bread? Don’t you know or understand even yet? Are your hearts too hard to take it in?‘ You have eyes— can’t you see? You have ears— can’t you hear?’ Don’t you remember anything at all?

And the Lord said to Moses,“ How long will these people treat me with contempt? Will they never believe me, even after all the miraculous signs I have done among them?

Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”

That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them!“ Peace be with you,” he said.As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord!

“ Don’t you understand yet?” Jesus asked.“ Anything you eat passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.
