祭司諸長、及經士、亦如此戲之、相語曰、彼救他人、不能自救、

大司祭及經生輩亦相與肆其嘲弄曰：『何彼之善於救人、而拙於救己也！

In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him among themselves.“ He saved others,” they said,“ but he can’t save himself!

In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law made fun of him among themselves.“ He saved others,” they said.“ But he can’t save himself!

So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying,“ He saved others; he cannot save himself.

The leading priests and teachers of religious law also mocked Jesus.“ He saved others,” they scoffed,“ but he can’t save himself!

In the same way, the chief priests with the scribes were mocking him among themselves and saying,“ He saved others, but he cannot save himself!

And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided[ him], saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.

Likewise also the chief priests mocking[ him], with the scribes and elders, said,He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.I may tell all my bones: they look[ and] stare upon me.

Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.If we let him thus alone, all[ men] will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.And one of them,[ named] Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed,[ saying],Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

For[ it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
