黎明的時候，眾人從該亞法那裡把耶穌押往總督府，他們自己卻沒有進去，因為怕沾染污穢，不能吃逾越節的晚餐。彼拉多出來問他們：「你們控告這個人什麼罪？」他們回答說：「如果祂沒有為非作歹，我們也不會把祂送到你這裡來。」彼拉多說：「你們把祂帶走，按照你們的律法去審理吧。」猶太人說：「可是我們無權把人處死。」這是要應驗耶穌預言自己會怎樣死的話。彼拉多回到總督府提審耶穌，問道：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」耶穌回答說：「你這樣問是你自己的意思還是聽別人說的？」彼拉多說：「難道我是猶太人嗎？是你們猶太人和祭司長把你送來的。你到底犯了什麼罪？」耶穌答道：「我的國不屬於這個世界，如果我的國屬於這個世界，我的臣僕早就起來爭戰了，我也不會被交在猶太人的手裡。但我的國不屬於這個世界。」於是彼拉多對祂說：「那麼，你是王嗎？」耶穌說：「你說我是王，我正是為此而生，也為此來到世上為真理做見證，屬於真理的人都聽從我的話。」彼拉多說：「真理是什麼？」說完了，又到外面對猶太人說：「我查不出祂有什麼罪。

亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的上帝，就是我們祖先的上帝，已經使祂的僕人耶穌得了榮耀。你們把耶穌交給彼拉多，儘管彼拉多想釋放祂，你們卻在彼拉多面前棄絕祂！

你藉著聖靈感動你的僕人——我們的祖先大衛說，『列國為何咆哮？萬民為何枉費心機？世上的君王一同行動，官長聚集起來，要抵擋主和祂所膏立的王。』「果然如此，希律和本丟·彼拉多、外族人和以色列聚集在這城裡，要對抗你膏立的聖子耶穌，然而他們所做的只不過是你憑自己的能力和旨意所預定的。

人子將被交在外族人的手裡，被他們嘲弄、虐待、吐唾沫、鞭打和殺害，但第三天祂必復活。」

「聽著，我們現在前往耶路撒冷。人子將被交在祭司長和律法教師的手中，他們要判祂死刑，把祂交給外族人。他們會嘲弄祂，向祂吐唾沫，鞭打祂，殺害祂。但是，三天之後祂必復活！」

但我告訴你們，凡無緣無故向弟兄發怒的，要受審判；凡罵弟兄是白癡的，要受公會的審判；凡罵弟兄是笨蛋的，難逃地獄的火。

「你們要留意，我們現在前往耶路撒冷，人子將被交給祭司長和律法教師。他們要判祂死刑，把祂交給外族人，受嘲弄、鞭打，被釘在十字架上。但第三天祂必復活。」

世上的君王一同行動，官長聚集商議，要抵擋耶和華和祂所膏立的王。

第二天，官長、長老和律法教師都聚集在耶路撒冷，大祭司亞那，以及該亞法、約翰、亞歷山大和大祭司的許多親族都在場。
