大衛既核民數、中心不安、禱於主曰、我行此愚甚、大干罪戾、求主宥僕之愆尤、大衛夙興時、主命先知迦得、即在大衛前為先見者、曰、

既而省悟曰、我父傭人甚多、其糧有餘、而我餓死乎、我必起而歸我父、向之曰、父、我獲罪於天、亦獲罪於爾、不堪復稱為爾子、請視我如爾傭人之一、

遂出而痛哭、○

彼得曰、人乎、我不識爾所言也、言時、鷄即鳴、

遵天主旨而憂、生悔改無有後悔者、以致得救、若從世俗而憂、則致死矣、

我赦爾凡爾所作之事、爾追憶前行、則自慚不已、不敢啟口、此乃主天主所言、
