有兩個匪徒來，坐在拿伯的對面，當着眾民作見證告他說：「拿伯謗瀆神和王了！」眾人就把他拉到城外，用石頭打死。

過了五天，大祭司亞拿尼亞同幾個長老，和一個辯士帖土羅下來，向巡撫控告保羅。保羅被提了來，帖土羅就告他說：「腓力斯大人，我們因你得以大享太平，並且這一國的弊病，因着你的先見得以更正了；我們隨時隨地滿心感謝不盡。惟恐多說，你嫌煩絮，只求你寬容聽我們說幾句話。我們看這個人，如同瘟疫一般，是鼓動普天下眾猶太人生亂的，又是拿撒勒教黨裏的一個頭目，連聖殿他也想要污穢；我們把他捉住了。

祭司長和全公會尋找假見證控告耶穌，要治死他。雖有好些人來作假見證，總得不着實據。末後有兩個人前來，說：

又叫兩個匪徒坐在拿伯對面，作見證告他說：『你謗瀆神和王了』；隨後就把他拉出去用石頭打死。」

存着無虧的良心，叫你們在何事上被毀謗，就在何事上可以叫那誣賴你們在基督裏有好品行的人自覺羞愧。神的旨意若是叫你們因行善受苦，總強如因行惡受苦。因基督也曾一次為罪受苦，就是義的代替不義的，為要引我們到神面前。按着肉體說，他被治死；按着靈性說，他復活了。

那時，總長和總督尋找但以理誤國的把柄，為要參他；只是找不着他的錯誤過失，因他忠心辦事，毫無錯誤過失。
