It was the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. That was the time to sacrifice the Passover lamb. Jesus’ disciples asked him,“ Where do you want us to go and prepare for you to eat the Passover meal?”

“ Observe the month of Abib and keep the Passover to the Lord your God, for in the month of Abib the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night.And you shall offer the Passover sacrifice to the Lord your God, from the flock or the herd, at the place that the Lord will choose, to make his name dwell there.You shall eat no leavened bread with it. Seven days you shall eat it with unleavened bread, the bread of affliction— for you came out of the land of Egypt in haste— that all the days of your life you may remember the day when you came out of the land of Egypt.No leaven shall be seen with you in all your territory for seven days, nor shall any of the flesh that you sacrifice on the evening of the first day remain all night until morning.

Then Moses said to the people,“ Remember this day in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of slavery, for by a strong hand the Lord brought you out from this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten.

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,

Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Then came the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.So Jesus sent Peter and John, saying,“ Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it.”They said to him,“ Where will you have us prepare it?”He said to them,“ Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he entersand tell the master of the house,‘ The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’And he will show you a large upper room furnished; prepare it there.”And they went and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

“ On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Lord’s Passover,and on the fifteenth day of this month is a feast. Seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work,

Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying,“ Where will you have us prepare for you to eat the Passover?”He said,“ Go into the city to a certain man and say to him,‘ The Teacher says, My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.’”And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the Passover.

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight, is the Lord’s Passover.And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.

But Jesus answered him,“ Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.
