You must care for it until the fourteenth day of this month, and then the whole community of Israel will kill it around sundown.They will take some of the blood and put it on the two side posts and top of the doorframe of the houses where they will eat it.They will eat the meat the same night; they will eat it roasted over the fire with bread made without yeast and with bitter herbs.Do not eat it raw or boiled in water, but roast it over the fire with its head, its legs, and its entrails.You must leave nothing until morning, but you must burn with fire whatever remains of it until morning.This is how you are to eat it– dressed to travel, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You are to eat it in haste. It is the LORD’S Passover.I will pass through the land of Egypt in the same night, and I will attack all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both of humans and of animals, and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment. I am the LORD.The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, so that when I see the blood I will pass over you, and this plague will not fall on you to destroy you when I attack the land of Egypt.This day will become a memorial for you, and you will celebrate it as a festival to the LORD– you will celebrate it perpetually as a lasting ordinance.For seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. Surely on the first day you must put away yeast from your houses because anyone who eats bread made with yeast from the first day to the seventh day will be cut off from Israel.On the first day there will be a holy convocation, and on the seventh day there will be a holy convocation for you. You must do no work of any kind on them, only what every person will eat– that alone may be prepared for you.So you will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because on this very day I brought your regiments out from the land of Egypt, and so you must keep this day perpetually as a lasting ordinance.In the first month, from the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you will eat bread made without yeast until the twenty-first day of the month in the evening.For seven days yeast must not be found in your houses, for whoever eats what is made with yeast– that person will be cut off from the community of Israel, whether a foreigner or one born in the land.You will not eat anything made with yeast; in all the places where you live you must eat bread made without yeast.’”

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, is a Passover offering to the LORD.Then on the fifteenth day of the same month will be the festival of unleavened bread to the LORD; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.On the first day there will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work.

Observe the month Abib and keep the Passover to the LORD your God, for in that month he brought you out of Egypt by night.You must sacrifice the Passover animal( from the flock or the herd) to the LORD your God in the place where he chooses to locate his name.You must not eat any yeast with it; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast, symbolic of affliction, for you came out of Egypt hurriedly. You must do this so you will remember for the rest of your life the day you came out of the land of Egypt.There must not be a scrap of yeast within your land for seven days, nor can any of the meat you sacrifice on the evening of the first day remain until the next morning.You may not sacrifice the Passover in just any of your villages that the LORD your God is giving you,but you must sacrifice it in the evening in the place where he chooses to locate his name, at sunset, the time of day you came out of Egypt.You must cook and eat it in the place the LORD your God chooses; you may return the next morning to your tents.You must eat bread made without yeast for six days. The seventh day you are to hold an assembly for the LORD your God; you must not do any work on that day.

Why do the nations rebel? Why are the countries devising plots that will fail?The kings of the earth form a united front; the rulers collaborate against the LORD and his anointed king.They say,“ Let’s tear off the shackles they’ve put on us! Let’s free ourselves from their ropes!”The one enthroned in heaven laughs in disgust; the Lord taunts them.Then he angrily speaks to them and terrifies them in his rage, saying,

But the Pharisees went out and plotted against him, as to how they could assassinate him.

Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air.

who said by the Holy Spirit through your servant David our forefather,‘ Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot foolish things?The kings of the earth stood together, and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord and against his Christ.’“ For indeed both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together in this city against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,to do as much as your power and your plan had decided beforehand would happen.

Hide me from the plots of evil men, from the crowd of evildoers.They sharpen their tongues like a sword; they aim their arrow, a slanderous charge,in order to shoot down the innocent in secluded places. They shoot at him suddenly and are unafraid of retaliation.They encourage one another to carry out their evil deed. They plan how to hide snares, and boast,“ Who will see them?”They devise unjust schemes; they disguise a well-conceived plot. Man’s inner thoughts cannot be discovered.

So from that day they planned together to kill him.Thus Jesus no longer went around publicly among the Judeans, but went away from there to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and stayed there with his disciples.Now the Jewish Feast of Passover was near, and many people went up to Jerusalem from the rural areas before the Passover to cleanse themselves ritually.Thus they were looking for Jesus, and saying to one another as they stood in the temple courts,“ What do you think? That he won’t come to the feast?”( Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that anyone who knew where Jesus was should report it, so that they could arrest him.)

“‘ On the fourteenth day of the first month is the LORD’s Passover.And on the fifteenth day of this month is the festival. For seven days bread made without yeast must be eaten.And on the first day there is to be a holy assembly; you must do no ordinary work on it.“‘ But you must offer to the LORD an offering made by fire, a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs one year old; they must all be unblemished.And their grain offering is to be of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil. For each bull you must offer three-tenths of an ephah, and two-tenths for the ram.For each of the seven lambs you are to offer one-tenth of an ephah,as well as one goat for a purification offering, to make atonement for you.You must offer these in addition to the burnt offering in the morning which is for a continual burnt offering.In this manner you must offer daily throughout the seven days the food of the sacrifice made by fire as a sweet aroma to the LORD. It is to be offered in addition to the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.On the seventh day you are to have a holy assembly, you must do no regular work.

“ You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”Then the chief priests and the elders of the people met together in the palace of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas.They planned to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.But they said,“ Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.”

So the chief priests and the Pharisees called the council together and said,“ What are we doing? For this man is performing many miraculous signs.

They spend all their time planning how to bring him down. They love to use deceit; they pronounce blessings with their mouths, but inwardly they utter curses.( Selah)

You love evil more than good, lies more than speaking the truth.( Selah)

Thus whenever you do charitable giving, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in synagogues and on streets so that people will praise them. I tell you the truth, they have their reward.
