從此他們再也不敢質問他什麼了。

沒有人能回答他一句話。從那天起，再也沒有人敢質問耶穌了。

堅守那合乎教導的信實話語；這是為了要他不但能用健全的教義勸勉人，而且能使那些反對的人知罪。因為實在有許多不服從的、講虛妄話的、欺騙人的，尤其是那些屬於割禮派的人；必須堵住這些人的口。他們為了不正當的利益，教導不該教導的事，把許多人的整個家庭都破壞了。

你們的話語總要帶著恩惠，像用鹽調和過的，好使你們知道該怎樣回答每一個人。

我們知道，律法上的一切話都是對律法之下的人講的，好堵住每個人的口，使全世界的人都在神的審判之下有罪，因為沒有一個人本於律法上的行為在神面前被稱為義；原來，藉著律法，只能對罪有真正的認識。

我從前活在律法之外，但是誡命一來，罪就活起來了，

壓傷的蘆葦，他不折斷；將熄的燈火，他不吹滅，直到他使公義得勝，

原來藉著律法，我已經向律法死了，使我能向神活著。我已經和基督一起被釘十字架，
