我朝见耶和华，在至高的神面前叩拜，当献上什么呢？我朝见他的时候，当献上燔祭，当献上一岁的牛犊吗？耶和华喜悦千千的公羊，或是万万的油河吗？为我的过犯，我可以献上我的长子吗？为我的罪恶，献上我亲生的孩子吗？世人哪！耶和华已经指示你什么是善，他向你所要的又是什么；无非是要你行公义，好怜悯，谦虚谨慎与你的神同行。

我喜爱怜恤，不喜爱祭祀；我喜爱人认识神的知识，胜过人献的燔祭。

撒母耳说：“耶和华喜悦燔祭和平安祭，岂像喜悦人听从耶和华的话呢？听从胜过献祭，听命胜过公羊的脂油。

如果你们明白‘我喜爱怜悯，不喜爱祭祀’这句话的意思，就不会把无罪的定罪了。

‘我喜爱怜悯，不喜爱祭祀’，你们去想一想这话的意思吧。我来不是要召义人，而是要召罪人。”

我不是因你的祭物责备你，你的燔祭常在我面前。我不从你家里取公牛，也不从你羊圈中取公山羊。因为树林中的百兽是我的，千山上的牲畜也是我的。山中的雀鸟我都认识，田野的走兽也都属我。如果我饿了，我也不用对你说；因为世界和其中所充满的，都是我的。难道我要吃公牛的肉吗？要喝公山羊的血吗？你要以感谢为祭献给神，又要向至高者还你的愿。在患难的日子，你呼求我。我必搭救你，你也必尊敬我。”

我若能说世人和天使的方言，却没有爱，我就成了鸣的锣、响的钹一样。我若有先知讲道的恩赐，也明白各样的奥秘，各样的知识；并且有全备的信，叫我能够移山，却没有爱，我就算不得什么。我若把一切所有的分给人，又舍己身被人焚烧，却没有爱，对我仍然毫无益处。

耶和华说：“你们献上众多祭物，对我有什么益处呢？公绵羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂肪，我已经够了；公牛、羊羔和公山羊的血，我都不喜悦。你们来朝见我的时候，谁要求你们这样践踏我的院子呢？不要再带没有意义的供物来了，烧献祭物的香气也是我厌恶的。我厌烦月朔、安息日和集会；作罪孽又守严肃会，是我不能容忍的。你们的月朔和制定的节期，我心里恨恶；它们都成了我的重担，我已承担得不耐烦了。所以你们张开双手的时候，我必掩眼不看你们；即使你们多多祷告，我也不听；你们的手都沾满血腥。你们要洗涤自己，洁净自己；从我眼前除掉你们的恶行；要停止作恶，学习行善，寻求公平，指责残暴的人，替孤儿伸冤，为寡妇辨屈。”

凡是以感谢为祭献上的，就是尊敬我；那预备道路的，我必使他得见神的救恩。”

使人刻苦自己的日子，这样的禁食是我拣选的吗？难道只是叫人垂头像一根苇子，用麻布和炉灰铺在下面吗？你可以称这是禁食，为耶和华所悦纳的日子吗？我所拣选的禁食不是这样吗？不是要松开凶恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，使被压迫的获得自由，折断所有的轭吗？不是要把你的食物分给饥饿的人，把流浪的穷困人接到你的家里，见到赤身露体的，给他衣服蔽体，不可逃避自己的骨肉而不顾恤吗？

秉公行义，比献祭更蒙耶和华悦纳。

我憎恨、厌恶你们的节期，也不喜爱你们的节日。虽然你们给我献上燔祭和素祭，我却不接受。你们献上肥美的牲畜作平安祭，我也不悦纳。你们唱歌的吵声要远离我，我不想听见你们的琴声。但愿公正好像潮水滚流，公义好像河水长流。

万军之耶和华以色列的神这样说：“你们尽管把燔祭加在平安祭上，自己吃祭肉吧！因为我把你们列祖从埃及地领出来的那日，燔祭和平安祭的事，我并没有向他们提说，也没有吩咐他们。我只吩咐他们这一件事，说：‘你们要听从我的话，我就作你们的神，你们也作我的子民；你们要遵行我所吩咐的一切道，好使你们蒙福。’

前面说：“祭品和礼物，燔祭和赎罪祭，不是你所要的，也不是你所喜悦的。”这些都是按照律法献的；
