先知遂往、俟於途側、以迓王至、改其儀容、以巾掩面。王過時、則呼曰、臣僕往戰、有人執其敵、命我守之、曰、如其不在、爾必償命、或罰金千有五百。僕顧左右、不覺其人已逸。以色列王曰、循爾所言、必鞫爾事。速去其巾、面遂顯露。以色列王乃知為先知之徒。

時、祭司諸長士子知耶穌設譬指己、欲執之而畏民、

祭可諸長𠵽唎㘔人、聞此譬、識其言指己、欲執之、惟懼民、蓋民以耶穌為先知也、

耶和華命的庇人以利亞曰、都於撒馬利亞、以色列王亞哈、今詣拿泊之園、據有其地。爾可前往以迓。告之曰、耶和華云、汝豈非殺人而據其業乎。又云、犬舐拿泊之血於其處、亦必舐爾之血。亞哈曰、爾為我敵、今乃與我相遇乎。曰、我遇爾者、因爾在耶和華前、惟惡是務。耶和華必降災於爾、絶爾後裔、不遺一男、爾之子孫、在以色列族中、自主及僕、靡有孑遺。必使爾家如尼八子耶羅破暗之家、亦如亞希雅子巴沙之家、因爾干其震怒、使以色列族陷罪。論及耶洗別、耶和華云、近耶斯烈城、耶洗別必為犬所噬。凡亞哈所屬者、死於城邑、犬必食之、死於曠野、飛鳥食之。自昔以來、未有若亞哈、在耶和華前、惟惡是務、為其后耶洗別所慫慂、彼事偶像、乃可惡之事、效尤乎亞摩哩人、耶和華所驅於以色列族前者。亞哈聞言、則裂其衣、衣麻禁食、或寢或行、卑以自牧。

拿單告大闢曰、作此者爾也。以色列族之上帝耶和華云、我沐爾以膏、為以色列王、援爾於掃羅手、得據爾主之業、取爾主之妻、以以色列猶大二族、畀爾治理、爾猶以為寡、我更給爾貨財、難以悉計。何藐視我命、行惡於我前、藉亞捫族之刃、殺赫人烏利亞、而取其妻為妻。爾既藐視我、以赫人烏利亞之妻為妻、人必以刃擊爾家、歷久不已。耶和華又云、我必使惡人生於爾家、爾之骨肉奪爾嬪妃、白晝宣淫、為爾目擊。爾隱行是惡、我將於以色列族前顯以報爾。大闢曰、我犯罪於耶和華。拿單曰、耶和華已宥爾罪、不至死亡。爾之作為若此、使逆耶和華之人愈生厭惡、故爾所得之子必死。拿單歸。耶和華擊烏利亞妻所生之子、遘疾垂危。

若云由人、我又畏民、蓋民以約翰為先知也、
