On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves,

The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.And within the temple grounds He found those who were selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables.And He made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables;and to those who were selling the doves He said,“ Take these things away from here; stop making My Father’s house a place of business!”His disciples remembered that it was written:“ Zeal for Your house will consume me.”

And Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those who were selling and buying on the temple grounds, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.And He* said to them,“ It is written:‘ My house will be called a house of prayer’; but you are making it a den of robbers.”And those who were blind and those who limped came to Him in the temple area, and He healed them.But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were shouting in the temple area,“ Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant,and they said to Him,“ Do You hear what these children are saying?” And Jesus* said to them,“ Yes. Have you never read,‘ From the mouths of infants and nursing babies You have prepared praise for Yourself’?”

And Jesus entered the temple grounds and began to drive out those who were selling,saying to them,“ It is written:‘ And My house will be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to put Him to death,

then you shall exchange it for money, and bind the money in your hand and go to the place which the Lord your God chooses.And you may spend the money on whatever your heart desires: on oxen, sheep, wine, other strong drink, or whatever your heart desires; and there you shall eat in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice, you and your household.
