And He said to it,“ May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” And His disciples were listening.

Then he said to the tree,“ May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it.

In response Jesus said to it,“ Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” And His disciples heard it.

And he answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit from thee henceforward for ever. And his disciples heard it.

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard[ it].

He said to it,“ May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

Jesus told it,“ May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and his disciples heard it.

And seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves alone; and He* said to it,“ No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you.” And at once the fig tree withered.

And the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore, every tree that does not bear good fruit is being cut down and thrown into the fire.

If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

As they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up.And being reminded, Peter* said to Him,“ Rabbi, look, the fig tree that You cursed has withered.”

“ Either assume the tree to be good as well as its fruit good, or assume the tree to be bad as well as its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, express any good things? For the mouth speaks from that which fills the heart.The good person brings out of his good treasure good things; and the evil person brings out of his evil treasure evil things.

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard: I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed; I will break down its wall and it will become trampled ground.I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned nor hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also command the clouds not to rain on it.”

“ Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it, and dug a wine press in it, and built a tower, and he leased it to vine growers and went on a journey.

“ Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.You shall also tie them as a sign to your hand, and they shall be as frontlets on your forehead.

“ See, I am placing before you today a blessing and a curse:the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I am commanding you today;and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by following other gods which you have not known.“ And it shall come about, when the Lord your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, that you shall place the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.Are they not across the Jordan, west of the road toward the sunset, in the land of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah, opposite Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?For you are about to cross the Jordan to go in to take possession of the land which the Lord your God is giving you, and you shall possess it and live in it,

Let the one who does wrong still do wrong, and the one who is filthy still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous still practice righteousness, and the one who is holy still keep himself holy.”

And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and on whomever it falls, it will crush him.”

For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.
