They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve aside and told them what was going to happen to him.

耶穌上耶路撒冷去的時候，暗暗地把那十二個人帶到一邊，在路上對他們說：『看吧，我們上耶路撒冷去，人子必被送交給祭司長和經學士；他們必定他死罪，把他送交給外國人，去戲弄、鞭打、並釘十字架；第三天他就必得甦活起來。』

耶穌被接上升的日子將要到了，就硬着頭皮、面向耶路撒冷走去，

當那些時候，耶穌應時地說：『父啊，天地的主啊，我稱謝你，因為你將這些事向智慧通達的人隱藏起來，向嬰孩卻啓示了。

不用比喻，就不對他們講；私下裏才對門徒解釋一切。

門徒對他說：『老師，近今來猶太人正想法子要用石頭打你呢。你再往那裏去麼？』

就轉過身來暗暗地對門徒說：『看見你們所看見的、那眼睛有福啊！

那稱為雙生的多馬就對同做門徒的說：『我們也去、和他同死吧。』

耶穌帶着那十二個人到一邊，對他們說：『看吧，我們上耶路撒冷，凡藉着神言人所寫的事都必完成在人子身上。他必被送交給外國人，必被戲弄，被凌辱，被吐唾沫。他們必鞭打他，殺害他；第三天他就必復起。』這些事、他們一樣也不曉悟；這話對於他們是隱藏的；所說的事、他們都不曉得。

耶穌回答他們說：『天國的奧祕是給你們知道，而不是給那些人的。

大祭司約書亞啊，你和坐在你面前的同伴都是好兆頭的人，你們都要聽！看吧！我必使我僕人大衛、那稱為樹苗的、發生出來。
