我雖隕越、必復振興、我雖居暗域、耶和華必賜光明、故予寇仇、毋庸欣喜、

我敵歟、毋因我而欣喜、我雖傾仆、仍必復起、我雖坐於昏暗、有主為我光明、

Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

The people of Jerusalem say,“ Don’t laugh when we suffer, you enemies of ours! We have fallen. But we’ll get up. Even though we sit in the dark, the Lord will give us light.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness:[ he is] gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

The LORD[ is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD[ is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to[ give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

For the LORD God[ is] a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good[ thing] will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,[ being] bound in affliction and iron;Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and[ there was] none to help.Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble,[ and] he saved them out of their distresses.He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.Oh that[ men] would praise the LORD[ for] his goodness, and[ for] his wonderful works to the children of men!

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

Then[ she that is] mine enemy shall see[ it], and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

For a just[ man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:Lest the LORD see[ it], and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

For I said,[ Hear me], lest[ otherwise] they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify[ themselves] against me.

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him:

As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea,[ even] all of it: and they shall know that I[ am] the LORD.

For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped[ thine] hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth[ him with] his hand.

Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me:[ neither] let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.

To open their eyes,[ and] to turn[ them] from darkness to light, and[ from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that[ are] in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures[ shall be] in all high places.

The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify[ themselves] against me.

But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together:[ yea], the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew[ it] not; they did tear[ me], and ceased not:With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him;[ and] those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,To give light to them that sit in darkness and[ in] the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb[ is] the light thereof.

Who[ is] among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh[ in] darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
