我的仇敌看见了，就必蒙羞，就是那曾经对我说：“耶和华你的神在哪里”的人，我必亲眼看见他遭报；那时，他必被人践踏，好像街上的泥土。

那時我的仇敵、就是那譏笑我說：『永恆主你的上帝在哪裏？』的、一看見，就必被慚愧籠罩着；我必親眼見到她遭報；這時她就被踐踏，如同街上的泥土。

我敵見之、必蒙羞恥、昔彼謂我曰、爾之上帝耶和華安在、彼必遭報、被踐若街衢之泥、為我目睹、

我敵見之、含羞抱愧、昔彼問我云、爾之上帝耶和華安在、今遭蹂躪、若衢路之泥、我目睹之。

我敵見此、必蒙羞抱愧、彼問我云、爾之天主耶和華安在、我必目睹我敵遭報、因我敵遭蹂躪、如衢路之泥然、

Then my enemy will see it and will be covered with shame, she who said to me,“ Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will see her downfall; even now she will be trampled underfoot like mire in the streets.

Our enemies will see it too. And they will be put to shame. After all, they said to us,‘ Where is the Lord your God?’ But we will see them destroyed. Soon they will be stomped on like mud in the streets.”

Then my enemies will see that the Lord is on my side. They will be ashamed that they taunted me, saying,“ So where is the Lord— that God of yours?” With my own eyes I will see their downfall; they will be trampled like mud in the streets.

Then my enemy will see, and she will be covered with shame, the one who said to me,“ Where is the LORD your God?” My eyes will look at her in triumph; at that time she will be trampled like mud in the streets.

Then my enemy will see, And shame will cover her who said to me,“ Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will look at her; At that time she will be trampled down Like mud of the streets.

Then she who is my enemy will see, And shame will cover her who said to me,“ Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will see her; Now she will be trampled down Like mud in the streets.

Then mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said unto me, Where is Jehovah thy God? Mine eyes shall see my desire upon her; now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

Then my enemy will see, and she will be covered with shame, the one who said to me,“ Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will look at her in triumph; at that time she will be trampled like mud in the streets.

Then[ she that is] mine enemy shall see[ it], and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

When my enemies see this, they will be covered with shame. They say to me,“ Where is the LORD your God?” I will gloat over them. Then they will be trampled down like mud in the streets.

Then my enemy will see it, and shame will cover her who said to me, where is Yahweh your God? Then my enemy will see me and will cover her shame. Now she will be trodden down like the mire of the streets.

They shall be like mighty men in battle, trampling the foe in the mud of the streets; they shall fight because the Lord is with them, and they shall put to shame the riders on horses.

Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say,“ Spare your people, O Lord, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’”

‘ We are put to shame, for we have heard reproach; dishonor has covered our face, for foreigners have come into the holy places of the Lord’s house.’

Let them be put to shame and disappointed altogether who rejoice at my calamity! Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me!

As with a deadly wound in my bones, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me all the day long,“ Where is your God?”

I beat them fine as the dust of the earth; I crushed them and stamped them down like the mire of the streets.

I beat them fine as dust before the wind; I cast them out like the mire of the streets.

Now many nations are assembled against you, saying,“ Let her be defiled, and let our eyes gaze upon Zion.”

Sit in silence, and go into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for you shall no more be called the mistress of kingdoms.I was angry with my people; I profaned my heritage; I gave them into your hand; you showed them no mercy; on the aged you made your yoke exceedingly heavy.You said,“ I shall be mistress forever,” so that you did not lay these things to heart or remember their end.Now therefore hear this, you lover of pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart,“ I am, and there is no one besides me; I shall not sit as a widow or know the loss of children”:These two things shall come to you in a moment, in one day; the loss of children and widowhood shall come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and the great power of your enchantments.

For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain, and Moab shall be trampled down in his place, as straw is trampled down in a dunghill.And he will spread out his hands in the midst of it as a swimmer spreads his hands out to swim, but the Lord will lay low his pompous pride together with the skill of his hands.And the high fortifications of his walls he will bring down, lay low, and cast to the ground, to the dust.

Why should the nations say,“ Where is their God?” Let the avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants be known among the nations before our eyes!

May my accusers be clothed with dishonor; may they be wrapped in their own shame as in a cloak!

Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff;you shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in the Lord; in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory.

Because of the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.

The scatterer has come up against you. Man the ramparts; watch the road; dress for battle; collect all your strength.For the Lord is restoring the majesty of Jacob as the majesty of Israel, for plunderers have plundered them and ruined their branches.The shield of his mighty men is red; his soldiers are clothed in scarlet. The chariots come with flashing metal on the day he musters them; the cypress spears are brandished.

Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?”

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts: The people of Israel are oppressed, and the people of Judah with them. All who took them captive have held them fast; they refuse to let them go.Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon.

My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long,“ Where is your God?”

“ Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah:‘ Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you by promising that Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, devoting them to destruction. And shall you be delivered?

He said,“ Throw her down.” So they threw her down. And some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses, and they trampled on her.Then he went in and ate and drank. And he said,“ See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king’s daughter.”But when they went to bury her, they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.When they came back and told him, he said,“ This is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite:‘ In the territory of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel,and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the territory of Jezreel, so that no one can say, This is Jezebel.’”

The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.

And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.

Your own eyes shall see this, and you shall say,“ Great is the Lord beyond the border of Israel!”

Why is your apparel red, and your garments like his who treads in the winepress?“ I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with me; I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath; their lifeblood spattered on my garments, and stained all my apparel.

For he has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust.The foot tramples it, the feet of the poor, the steps of the needy.”

Suddenly Babylon has fallen and been broken; wail for her! Take balm for her pain; perhaps she may be healed.We would have healed Babylon, but she was not healed. Forsake her, and let us go each to his own country, for her judgment has reached up to heaven and has been lifted up even to the skies.The Lord has brought about our vindication; come, let us declare in Zion the work of the Lord our God.

Thus says your Lord, the Lord, your God who pleads the cause of his people:“ Behold, I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering; the bowl of my wrath you shall drink no more;and I will put it into the hand of your tormentors, who have said to you,‘ Bow down, that we may pass over’; and you have made your back like the ground and like the street for them to pass over.”

He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

“ I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea before your very eyes for all the evil that they have done in Zion, declares the Lord.

Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her!”

O daughter of Babylon, doomed to be destroyed, blessed shall he be who repays you with what you have done to us!Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock!

Why should the nations say,“ Where is their God?”

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me,“ Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters,with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.”And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.And on her forehead was written a name of mystery:“ Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.”And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly.But the angel said to me,“ Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.

They put on sackcloth, and horror covers them. Shame is on all faces, and baldness on all their heads.
