這個人帶領以色列子民出來，在埃及地、在紅海，並且在曠野的四十年間，行了奇事和神蹟。

我們的祖先在埃及時，不明白你的奇妙作為，不記念你豐盛的慈愛，反倒在紅海邊悖逆。但他為自己名的緣故拯救他們，為要彰顯他的大能。他斥責紅海，海就乾涸了；他帶他們走過深淵，如同走過旱地。他拯救他們脫離仇恨者的手，從仇敵的手中救贖了他們。

他在他們的一切患難中也受患難，並且他面前的使者拯救了他們。他以自己的愛和憐恤救贖了他們，在古時所有的日子裡舉起他們、背負他們。然而他們悖逆，使他的聖靈憂傷；他就轉成他們的仇敵，親自與他們爭戰。那時，他想起古時的日子，就是摩西和他子民的日子：那把他們和他群羊的牧人們從海裡帶上來的，在哪裡呢？那把他的聖靈降在他們當中的，在哪裡呢？那讓自己榮耀的膀臂在摩西右邊作工，在他們面前把水分開，為自己成就永遠之名的，在哪裡呢？

當稱謝那擊殺埃及頭生的，因他的慈愛永遠長存！他把以色列從他們中間領出來，因他的慈愛永遠長存！

你藉著摩西和亞倫的手，引導你的子民如同引導羊群。

他擊殺埃及所有的長子，在含族帳篷中擊殺他們強壯時頭生的。他領出自己的子民如同領出羊群，在曠野引領他們如同引領畜群。他引導他們安然行進，使他們不懼怕；海水卻淹沒了他們的仇敵。
