The Lord says,“ Bethlehem Ephrathah, you might not be an important town in the nation of Judah. But out of you will come for me a ruler over Israel. His family line goes back to the early years of your nation. It goes all the way back to days of long ago.”

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.

( 5: 1) As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah– from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose origins are in the distant past.

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.

And thou Bethlehem,[ in] the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he[ is] just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.Of the increase of[ his] government and peace[ there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

Now David[ was] the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah, whose name[ was] Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men[ for] an old man in the days of Saul.

And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which[ is] Bethlehem.

And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet[ there was] but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same[ is] Bethlehem.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

And all the people that[ were] in the gate, and the elders, said,[ We are] witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him[ came] the chief ruler; but the birthright[ was] Joseph’s:)

And Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These[ are] the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, the father of Bethlehem.

These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim,Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the father of Bethgader.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem;( because he was of the house and lineage of David:)To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send[ it] unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him,[ Nay], but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.

And he hath on[ his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who[ is] this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.

Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens[ are] the work of thy hands.They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:But thou[ art] the same, and thy years shall have no end.

And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and[ will set them] to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.

And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this[ fellow] perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen,[ yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him,[ there is] no beauty that we should desire him.

See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.

For[ it is] evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of[ their] thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.

The sons of Salma; Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.

And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!But they cried out, Away with[ him], away with[ him], crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place[ such] over them,[ to be] rulers of thousands,[ and] rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them,[ even] my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken[ it].

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
