Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You, Lord, have abandoned your people, the descendants of Jacob. They are full of superstitions from the East; they practice divination like the Philistines and embrace pagan customs.Their land is full of silver and gold; there is no end to their treasures. Their land is full of horses; there is no end to their chariots.Their land is full of idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made. (niv)
