“ Get up,” Jesus told him,“ pick up your mat and walk!”Instantly the man got well, picked up his mat, and started to walk. Now that day was the Sabbath,so the Jews said to the man who had been healed,“ This is the Sabbath! It’s illegal for you to pick up your mat.”He replied,“ The man who made me well told me,‘ Pick up your mat and walk.’”“ Who is this man who told you,‘ Pick up your mat and walk’?” they asked.But the man who was cured did not know who it was, because Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.After this, Jesus found him in the temple complex and said to him,“ See, you are well. Do not sin anymore, so that something worse doesn’t happen to you.”

As a result, they were all astounded and gave glory to God, saying,“ We have never seen anything like this!”

By faith in His name, His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. So the faith that comes through Him has given him this perfect health in front of all of you.

Which is easier: to say,‘ Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say,‘ Get up and walk’?But so you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”— He told the paralyzed man,“ I tell you: Get up, pick up your mat, and go home.”Immediately he got up before them, picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.

But Peter said,“ I don’t have silver or gold, but what I have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong.So he jumped up, stood, and started to walk, and he entered the temple complex with them— walking, leaping, and praising God.All the people saw him walking and praising God,and they recognized that he was the one who used to sit and beg at the Beautiful Gate of the temple complex. In Lystra a man without strength in his feet, lame from birth, and who had never walked, satand heard Paul speaking. After observing him closely and seeing that he had faith to be healed,Paul said in a loud voice,“ Stand upright on your feet!” And he jumped up and started to walk around.When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language,“ The gods have come down to us in the form of men!”

Peter said to him,“ Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed,” and immediately he got up.

But Jesus responded to them,“ My Father is still working, and I am working also.”This is why the Jews began trying all the more to kill Him: Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

If we are being examined today about a good deed done to a disabled man— by what means he was healed—let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene— whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead— by Him this man is standing here before you healthy.
