有士子數人、意謂僭妄哉若人、

有士子數人、其心曰、僭妄哉若人、

有經士數人、其心曰、是人出褻瀆之言、

經生輩腹誹曰：『斯人言何僭妄！』

At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves,“ This fellow is blaspheming!”

Then some teachers of the law said to themselves,“ This fellow is saying a very evil thing!”

And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves,“ This man is blaspheming.”

But some of the teachers of religious law said to themselves,“ That’s blasphemy! Does he think he’s God?”

At this, some of the scribes said to themselves,“ He’s blaspheming!”

And some of the scribes said to themselves,“ This man is blaspheming!”

And at once some of the scribes said within themselves,“ This Man blasphemes!”

And behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.

At this, some of the scribes said among themselves,“ He’s blaspheming!”

Then some of the experts in the law said to themselves,“ This man is blaspheming!”

Behold, some of the scribes said to themselves,“ This man blasphemes.”

Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death,[ and] all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name[ of the LORD], shall be put to death.

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,Why doth this[ man] thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

For he taught them as[ one] having authority, and not as the scribes.

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw[ it], he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman[ this is] that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and[ against] God.And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon[ him], and caught him, and brought[ him] to the council,And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
