he said,“ Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him.

Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers:“ Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

He said these things, and after that, he said to them,“ Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep.”The disciples therefore said,“ Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying,

You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son!”He said to her,“ Give me your son.” He took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the room where he stayed, and laid him on his own bed.He cried to Yahweh, and said,“ Yahweh my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?”He stretched himself on the child three times, and cried to Yahweh, and said,“ Yahweh my God, please let this child’s soul come into him again.”Yahweh listened to the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said,“ Behold, your son lives.”The woman said to Elijah,“ Now I know that you are a man of God, and that Yahweh’s word in your mouth is truth.”

Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said,“ Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
