When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players, and the crowd in noisy disorder,

耶穌來到那會堂主管的家，看見吹笛的人和慌亂的人群，

耶穌入宰者之家、見吹籥者、及眾號咷、

耶穌既抵會董家、見吹籥者已至、人聲嘈雜、狀至紊亂；乃諭之曰：

When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes,

And when Jesus came to the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion,

And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute- players, and the crowd making a tumult,

When Jesus came to the leader’s house, He saw the flute players and a crowd lamenting loudly.

And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

When Jesus entered the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the disorderly crowd,

Jeremiah lamented for Josiah, and all the singing men and singing women spoke of Josiah in their lamentations to this day; and they made them an ordinance in Israel. Behold, they are written in the lamentations.

While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying,“ Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?”But Jesus, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue,“ Don’t be afraid, only believe.”He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.He came to the synagogue ruler’s house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.When he had entered in, he said to them,“ Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep.”They ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying.

While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, saying to him,“ Your daughter is dead. Don’t trouble the Teacher.”But Jesus hearing it, answered him,“ Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.

While he told these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying,“ My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”Jesus got up and followed him, as did his disciples.

They are like children who sit in the marketplace, and call to one another, saying,‘ We piped to you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned, and you didn’t weep.’

and say,‘ We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’

Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

Yahweh of Armies says,“ Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the skillful women, that they may come.Let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion,‘ How we are ruined! We are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.’”Yet hear Yahweh’s word, you women. Let your ear receive the word of his mouth. Teach your daughters wailing, and everyone teach her neighbor a lamentation.
