As he was telling them these things, suddenly one of the leaders came and knelt down before him, saying,“ My daughter just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”

As Jesus went, the people pressed around him.And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone.She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately her discharge of blood ceased.And Jesus said,“ Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said,“ Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!”But Jesus said,“ Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.”And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed.And he said to her,“ Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”While he was still speaking, someone from the ruler’s house came and said,“ Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher any more.”But Jesus on hearing this answered him,“ Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.”And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except Peter and John and James, and the father and mother of the child.And all were weeping and mourning for her, but he said,“ Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping.”And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.But taking her by the hand he called, saying,“ Child, arise.”And her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat.And her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened.

Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feetand implored him earnestly, saying,“ My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.”And he went with him. And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him.And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years,and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse.She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment.For she said,“ If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.”And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said,“ Who touched my garments?”And his disciples said to him,“ You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say,‘ Who touched me?’”And he looked around to see who had done it.But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.And he said to her,“ Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said,“ Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue,“ Do not fear, only believe.”And he allowed no one to follow him except Peter and James and John the brother of James.They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly.And when he had entered, he said to them,“ Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but sleeping.”And they laughed at him. But he put them all outside and took the child’s father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was.Taking her by the hand he said to her,“ Talitha cumi,” which means,“ Little girl, I say to you, arise.”And immediately the girl got up and began walking( for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement.And he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.

And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying,“ Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.”

he said,“ Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him.

But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people,“ There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”

But Naaman was angry and went away, saying,“ Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.

And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him,

Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice;and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.

When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him.But Peter lifted him up, saying,“ Stand up; I too am a man.”

But the centurion replied,“ Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed.For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one,‘ Go,’ and he goes, and to another,‘ Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.”

When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.So Jesus said to him,“ Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.”The official said to him,“ Sir, come down before my child dies.”

Jesus said to her,“ I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came up to him with her sons, and kneeling before him she asked him for something.

But she came and knelt before him, saying,“ Lord, help me.”

And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.

Now a centurion had a servant who was sick and at the point of death, who was highly valued by him.

After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying,“ Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, say it.”

And a ruler asked him,“ Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

Now when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet, saying to him,“ Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

Martha said to Jesus,“ Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.”

And those in the boat worshiped him, saying,“ Truly you are the Son of God.”
