I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

To do justice and judgment[ is] more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Wherewith shall I come before the LORD,[ and] bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams,[ or] with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn[ for] my transgression, the fruit of my body[ for] the sin of my soul?He hath shewed thee, O man, what[ is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

But what think ye? A[ certain] man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I[ go], sir: and went not.Whether of them twain did the will of[ his] father? They say unto him, The first. Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that[ sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Him hath God exalted with his right hand[ to be] a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

To open their eyes,[ and] to turn[ them] from darkness to light, and[ from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and[ then] to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by[ that] man whom he hath ordained;[ whereof] he hath given assurance unto all[ men], in that he hath raised him from the dead.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

And he spake this parable unto them, saying,What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?And when he hath found[ it], he layeth[ it] on his shoulders, rejoicing.And when he cometh home, he calleth together[ his] friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find[ it]?And when she hath found[ it], she calleth[ her] friends and[ her] neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I[ am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;And[ that] they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made[ them] at the beginning made them male and female,

Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
