法利賽人看見，就對耶穌的門徒說：「你們的先生為甚麼和稅吏並罪人一同吃飯呢？」

法利賽人見之、問其門徒曰、爾師何為與稅吏罪人同食乎、

法利塞人見之、謂其徒曰：『爾師奚為與稅吏罪人同食？』

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples,“ Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

法利賽人和文士就向耶穌的門徒發怨言說：「你們為甚麼和稅吏並罪人一同吃喝呢？」

法利賽人中的文士看見耶穌和罪人並稅吏一同吃飯，就對他門徒說：「他和稅吏並罪人一同吃喝嗎？」

眾稅吏和罪人都挨近耶穌，要聽他講道。法利賽人和文士私下議論說：「這個人接待罪人，又同他們吃飯。」

我先前寫信給你們說，不可與淫亂的人相交。此話不是指這世上一概行淫亂的，或貪婪的，勒索的，或拜偶像的；若是這樣，你們除非離開世界方可。但如今我寫信給你們說，若有稱為弟兄是行淫亂的，或貪婪的，或拜偶像的，或辱罵的，或醉酒的，或勒索的，這樣的人不可與他相交，就是與他吃飯都不可。

我們這生來的猶太人，不是外邦的罪人；

他能體諒那愚蒙的和失迷的人，因為他自己也是被軟弱所困。

眾人看見，都私下議論說：「他竟到罪人家裏去住宿。」

且對人說：你站開吧！不要挨近我，因為我比你聖潔。主說：這些人是我鼻中的煙，是整天燒着的火。

耶穌到了門徒那裏，看見有許多人圍着他們，又有文士和他們辯論。眾人一見耶穌，都甚希奇，就跑上去問他的安。耶穌問他們說：「你們和他們辯論的是甚麼？」
