你們行事為人不要愛錢財，要以現有的為滿足，因為神自己說過：「我絕不撇下你，也絕不離棄你。」所以，我們可以滿懷勇氣地說：「主是我的幫助，我就不懼怕，人能把我怎麼樣呢？」

「我把平安留給你們，我把我的平安賜給你們。我給你們的，不像世界所給的。你們心裡不要愁煩，也不要膽怯。

我們日用的食糧，願你天天賜給我們。

我把這些事告訴了你們，好讓你們在我裡面有平安。在世上你們有患難，然而你們要鼓起勇氣！我已經勝過了這世界。」

堅固門徒們的心，鼓勵他們持守信仰，說：「我們進入神的國，必須經過很多患難。」

免得有人在這些患難中動搖。因為你們自己知道，我們要受患難是註定的。事實上，我們還在你們那裡的時候，早就不斷地告訴你們，我們將要受患難，這果然應驗了，就像你們所知道的那樣。
