My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.Then you will understand what is right and just and fair— every good path.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.

This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah, doing what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God.In everything that he undertook in the service of God’s temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever.In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

“ Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them,“ no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of Godwill fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.”

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed— a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:“ The righteous will live by faith.”

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ— the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God— that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

and saying,“ Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

From that time on Jesus began to preach,“ Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Elijah said to her,“ Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.

and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,

You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.”This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ Give careful thought to your ways.Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord.“ You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty.“ Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house.Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops.I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the olive oil and everything else the ground produces, on people and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands.”

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him,“ Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”Solomon answered God,“ You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place.Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth.Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”God said to Solomon,“ Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king,therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. They will say of me,‘ In the Lord alone are deliverance and strength.’” All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame.

You may ask,“ What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not plant or harvest our crops?”I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years.

In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.

Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly.

Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:
