“ Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

慎勿於人前施濟、故令人見、若然、則不獲爾天父之賞、

爾其慎旃。施濟行善、不可徇人耳目；不然、不能望報於爾在天之父矣。

Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen of them: else ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.

They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long,

For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.

for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.

So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous,saying,‘ If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.“ And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for with lustful talk in their mouths they act; their heart is set on their gain.

And he said to them,“ You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

And he cautioned them, saying,“ Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

Jesus said to them,“ Watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

“ And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first,“ Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

And he said to them,“ Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

You shall restore to him the pledge as the sun sets, that he may sleep in his cloak and bless you. And it shall be righteousness for you before the Lord your God.

As it is written,“ He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.”He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

“ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

“ Say to all the people of the land and the priests,‘ When you fasted and mourned in the fifth month and in the seventh, for these seventy years, was it for me that you fasted?

Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness.

For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward, but if not of my own will, I am still entrusted with a stewardship.What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.

For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

Pray then like this:“ Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

And the King will answer them,‘ Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

The one who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and the one who receives a righteous person because he is a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”

But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn from the sins of Jeroboam, which he made Israel to sin.

He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.

Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you: break off your sins by practicing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, that there may perhaps be a lengthening of your prosperity.”

Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

“ On that day every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies. He will not put on a hairy cloak in order to deceive,

And he said,“ Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord.” So he had him ride in his chariot.
