所以，你们要治死身上属世的罪恶，如淫乱、污秽、邪情、恶欲和贪心，贪心就是拜偶像，

你们若随从罪恶本性活着，必定死亡；但若靠着圣灵除去身体的恶行，就必活着。

既然基督曾在肉身上为你们受苦，你们也要怀着同样的心志，因为肉体受过苦的人已经与罪断绝了关系，可以在今后的生活中不再随从人的私欲，只服从上帝的旨意。你们从前长期沉溺于异教徒的嗜好——淫乱、纵欲、醉酒、狂欢、宴乐和可憎的偶像崇拜。

那些属基督的人已经把罪恶的本性和本性里的邪情私欲都钉在十字架上了。

我们知道，我们的旧人已经和祂一同钉在十字架上，使辖制我们身体的罪失去力量，使我们不再做罪的奴隶。

我严格训练自己，克服自身的软弱，免得我传福音给别人，自己却被淘汰了。

“如果你的手或脚使你犯罪，就砍掉它！因为肢体残缺着进入永生，总比四肢健全却被丢进永远不灭的火中好。如果你的一只眼睛使你犯罪，就剜出来丢掉它吧！独眼进入永生，总比双目健全却被丢进地狱的火中好。

因为想救自己生命的，必失去生命；但为了我而失去生命的，必得到生命。人若赚得全世界，却失去自己或丧掉自己，又有什么益处呢？

人就是赚得全世界，却丧失自己的生命，又有什么益处呢？

但我告诉你们，凡无缘无故向弟兄发怒的，要受审判；凡骂弟兄是白痴的，要受公会的审判；凡骂弟兄是笨蛋的，难逃地狱的火。

要远远避开淫妇，不可靠近她的家门，免得你为别人枉费精力，为残忍之徒断送青春；免得外人吞尽你的财富，你的辛劳所得归给他人。临终之时，肉体衰残，你必呻吟不止，说：“我为何厌恶教诲，心里藐视责备！不听从老师的话，不侧耳听导师之言。在众人面前，我几乎身败名裂。”

你们这些蛇，这些毒蛇的后代啊，你们怎能逃脱地狱的刑罚呢？

人不结婚的原因很多，有些是因为先天的缺陷，有些是被人阉了，也有些是为了天国而自己放弃结婚的权利。谁能接受，就让他接受吧。”

“虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！因为你们走遍海洋和陆地去引人入教，等人入了教，却使他沦为地狱之子，比你们还坏一倍。

那些只能杀害身体，不能毁灭灵魂的人，不用怕他们。但要畏惧那位有权将身体和灵魂一同毁灭在地狱里的上帝。

我告诉你们应该惧怕谁，要惧怕上帝——祂有权终结人的生命，并把人丢在地狱里。是的，我告诉你们，要惧怕祂！
