We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.

“ In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,and do not give the devil a foothold.

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.

The wise fear the Lord and shun evil, but a fool is hotheaded and yet feels secure.

“ Then he will say to those on his left,‘ Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before.

The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death.

If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.

Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever.

“ Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

They knew he was fleeing, yet they did not tell me.” But the king’s officials were unwilling to raise a hand to strike the priests of the Lord.The king then ordered Doeg,“ You turn and strike down the priests.” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.He also put to the sword Nob, the town of the priests, with its men and women, its children and infants, and its cattle, donkeys and sheep.But one son of Ahimelek son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled to join David.He told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord.Then David said to Abiathar,“ That day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, I knew he would be sure to tell Saul. I am responsible for the death of your whole family.Stay with me; don’t be afraid. The man who wants to kill you is trying to kill me too. You will be safe with me.”

For all can see that the wise die, that the foolish and the senseless also perish, leaving their wealth to others.

Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king,

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say,‘ He has a demon.’The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,‘ Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”

Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly.“ They have credited David with tens of thousands,” he thought,“ but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?”And from that time on Saul kept a close eye on David.

Then Jonathan knew that his father intended to kill David.

I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.
